United Words, a Translation Atelier
At some point, I realised I was desperately short of time. Too many meaningful, demanding, beautiful projects were coming my way — and multitasking has its limits. So United Words was born.
I call it an atelier quite deliberately. An atelier is a place where each project is tailored, crafted, and handled with care, because translation, to me, is an art. It deserves value, respect, attention, and time.
Global Cultural Work
Over the years, I have had the privilege of working on projects that bring Ukrainian stories, art, and ideas into wider conversation with the world.
Book Publishing
I have led and delivered major translation projects for Chorna Hora Publishing House, including How Ukraine Lost Donbas by Denys Kazansky and Oceans of Grain: How American Wheat Changed the World by Scott Nelson.
A third book project has recently been completed: the Ukrainian translation of The Showman, a work that sparked wide international discussion and is now available to Ukrainian readers.
Exhibitions & Museums
I have overseen the translation of two major exhibitions dedicated to Ukrainian art — one at the Belvedere in Vienna, later shown in London, Paris, and Los Angeles, and another at the Odesa National Museum of Art.
These projects remain especially close to my heart, as they help Ukrainian art take its rightful place on the global cultural map.
I continue long-term collaborations with the Ivan Franko, Stanislav Ludkevych, and Solomiia Krushelnytska museums in Lviv, shaping their English-language presence with care and continuity.
I am equally proud of our work with the PinchukArtCentre Research Platform, where we translate in-depth research on Ukrainian art history — each text a new discovery and a renewed affirmation of cultural identity.
Media & Public Voices
Together with my team, I work with The Ukrainians, Reporters, and Telegraf to bring the voices of Ukrainian thinkers, artists, writers, doctors, and reporters into English with clarity and emotional precision.
Education & Care
A particularly meaningful project for me is Lessons of Well-being, an educational initiative under the patronage of Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelenska.
Here, I oversee all translation and editorial work. The project is dedicated to children growing up during wartime and seeks to offer them language, tools, and care for understanding themselves and the world around them.
Beyond Categories
Alongside these, there are many other projects — modernist heritage, film scripts, television series, photo exhibitions, and art books.
What unites them all is a shared purpose: to promote Ukrainian culture thoughtfully and to treat the written word with the attention, respect, and love it deserves.
